About Us
Naboom Dierebeskerming is a community-based animal welfare organisation serving the Naboom / Mokopane area in Limpopo, South Africa.
We work with cats and dogs who are vulnerable, unwanted, neglected, or at risk — often in situations where resources are limited and access to veterinary care is difficult. Our focus is practical, compassionate, and grounded in what truly makes a difference over time.
What We Do
Our work centres around four core areas:
Rescue Support & Assistance
We assist animals in distress by coordinating rescue efforts, providing short-term support, and working with veterinarians and foster homes where possible.
Sterilisation Initiatives
We prioritise sterilisation as the most effective long-term solution to reduce overpopulation, suffering, and the number of animals ending up on the streets or in shelters.
Rehoming & Foster Care
Where appropriate, we help rehabilitate animals and facilitate responsible rehoming, supported by temporary foster care.
Emergency Aid & Welfare Support
We provide emergency assistance in critical situations, including veterinary intervention where funds and capacity allow.
How We Work
Naboom Dierebeskerming operates through community involvement, local partnerships, and volunteer support. We believe that sustainable animal welfare is built through education, responsibility, and practical action — not quick fixes.
Funds raised are used carefully and transparently to support animal care, sterilisation programmes, emergency veterinary assistance, and the operational costs required to keep our welfare work running.
Our Values
Compassion without sensationalism
Responsibility over impulse
Transparency and accountability
Respect for both animals and the community we serve
Our Commitment
We are committed to doing what we can, with what we have, in a way that is ethical, responsible, and realistic. Animal welfare is complex, and lasting change takes time — but every animal helped matters.
